Vito Barbuto passed away suddenly at his home on December 16, 2025, in Aston, Pennsylvania.
Born in Calabria, Italy, Vito learned his trade as a stone mason before immigrating to the United States at the age of 16 in search of a better life. Through hard work and determination, he built not only a career but a legacy grounded in skill, resilience, and care for his family.
Vito greatly enjoyed gardening and was well-known for the vegetables he grew, taking particular pride in his fig tree. One of his greatest joys was watching his great-grandchildren climb the ladder to reach the figs. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life and was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. Within the family, it was often said that if Vito could not fix something, then it could not be fixed, a testament to his talents, ingenuity and steadfast nature.
Vito was the devoted husband of the late Lorraine “Rainy” Barbuto, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Lisa Ashton (née Barbuto), Vito Barbuto Jr. (Angela), and Teresa O’Neill (née Barbuto). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Laura (Dillon), Julia, Victoria (Chris), Ryan, and Natalie, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren, Colton, Hudson, and Teagan.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherina Viscomi and is survived by his siblings Antoinette Iezzi, Joe Chiaravalotti and Rose Chiaravalotti.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, December 22, from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. at the Danjolell–Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road, Aston. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the main chapel. Interment will take place at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
