Tom Tait, of Tucson, Arizona—formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—passed away suddenly on Monday, May 19, 2025.

Tom was the loving father of Linda Tait (Brian) and a cherished grandfather to Leelah, Jacob, and Jaden, who were truly the light of his life. He was a devoted brother to Carol Anne Pasquarello, Francis J. “F-Jay” (Beth) Smith, and Jeffrey Smith. He was predeceased by his brother John Smith. Loving uncle to Adam Pasquarello (Frankie), Brianne, Owen and Ryan Smith.

A proud 1974 graduate of West Catholic High School, Tom went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force for 20 years. His service took him around the world, with his final destination being Tucson, AZ, where he chose to plant his roots and raise his daughter.

Tom’s love language was food, and he found joy in cooking for others. Sunday dinners were a beloved tradition, with his legendary tamales and wings bringing everyone together. He was an avid reader who loved sharing books and stories, a passion he eagerly passed on to others.

He remained deeply connected to his Southwest Philly roots, often returning to spend time fishing, crabbing, and catching up with lifelong friends. A loyal fan of the Eagles and Phillies, Tom embodied kindness, generosity, and humility, never having a bad word to say about anyone.

We find solace in knowing his last day was spent beginning with daily mass, eating his favorite foods, and ended by watching his grandsons play baseball on a beautiful night.

Tom’s warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be dearly missed.

Friends and Family are invited to attend his visitation Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 9:00 am- 10:45 am, at the D’Anjolell – Stigale Memorial Home, 3260 Concord Road – Aston, PA 19014. A Catholic Prayer Service will be offered at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. An additional Funeral Mass will be held at a later date in Tucson, AZ in Tom’s honor.

I work at the Davis-Monthan AFB Chapel and interacted with Tom often. He would tell me about recipes he’d cooked and all about his house plants. He was very kind and I will miss our conversations. May you find comfort in knowing that Tom impacted many lives. May he rest in peace.

I will miss you so much Tom. I looked forward to seeing you every day at Mass. You always had a smile and could always make a bad day better. You always brought flowers for Mary and now you can give them to her in person. Peace to you in heaven.

Meeting you 30 years ago in the good Old Pueblo is definitely one of the best things that could have ever happened to me…getting to know you and referring to you as my dear, true friend is more than an honor. You are Home now…resting. God wanted to you earlier than I expected or I ever wanted but you will always be in my heart. I love you my dear Marrano. I will so miss you…until we meet again❤️

Tommy you will be so missed by the "Table 40" gang and your Tucson Community. I will never forget how you made us all laugh and your enduring love of the Eagles Football Team. It was our blessing to share so many years with you. The tough guy with a heart of gold! You will be remembered with love for a long time to come with our Tommy-Tom stories and wonderful memories.
