Lynn Marie Ciminera (nee Tuppeny), age 70 of Media, PA, passed away peacefully at Riddle Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends on September 21, 2025.
Born May 19, 1955 and raised in the Southwest section of Philadelphia, Lynn was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (nee Weir) Tuppeny. Lynn attended schools in Southwest Philadelphia and graduated from John Bartram High School. After her graduation, Lynn worked at Thomas Jefferson University as an administrative assistant. She met the love of her life, John, in February 1969 and they later married on September 16, 1978. Lynn became a devoted spouse immediately, and later, a devoted mother made a career out of raising her children. Lynn eventually returned to work for Rose Tree Media School District, first at Penncrest High School and later Indian Lane Elementary School for twenty-three years until her retirement.
Lynn was devoted to her family and career. Lynn’s joys included being down the Jersey Shore. Earlier on in her life, spending time with John in Avalon, NJ where they rented houses on the bay and enjoyed friendships that lasted throughout her life. Most recently, Lynn would spend time at her house on the bay in Ventnor, NJ with her husband, children, friends and family. The peace and tranquility on the water were meditative and her happy place. Sunsets would be the highlight of her day. Lynn also loved music and dancing; you would often find her on the dance floor at family events. Lynn was truly a selfless person. She was always concerned with others and radiated love, warmth, kindness and empathy to all who knew her.
Lynn is survived by her husband John Jr.; her children Christopher (Bethany) and Lauren (John) Cook; and her cherished grandchildren Penelope and Theodore Cook. She is also survived by her siblings Barbara (Richard) Stinsman, Janet (Richard) Kraskowski; Susan (Andrew) Gromilivitz; Edward (Barbara) Tuppeny; her sister-in-law Jane Stepheny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, Lynn was predeceased by her sister Katherine (Eugene) Gizzi, brothers James and Robert Tuppeny, sister-in-law Judy (Albert) Pandoli; father and mother-in-law John (Genevieve (nee Pinto)) Ciminera, Sr., and brother-in-law Joseph Stepheny.
Relatives & Friends are invited to her viewing Monday, September 29, 2025, 9:30-11 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church 2400 N. Providence Rd. Media. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
