Clara, (nee Bisetti) age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 23, 2026, of Springfield, PA and Cape May, NJ, formerly of Drexel Hill and Overbrook, West Philadelphia.
Clara was a graduate of the Philadelphia Musical Academy (University of Arts) and became a piano teacher for most of the children in the neighborhood. She was a teacher of the Music Department of St. Pius X School and St. Dorothy School. Clara also traveled internationally as an accompanist for the Cabrini College Choir and Delaware County Community College Choir.
Clara enjoyed raising her family. Summer travel included many camping trips from Florida to Maine, shore trips to Wildwood and summers in Cape May, NJ. She could be found knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting the most beautiful projects. Clara, Frank and Mike enjoyed semi-annual trips to Italy to visit family. She was also so proud to take all her grandchildren to Italy to experience her heritage.
Predeceased by her parents, Argentina (nee Valazza) and Mario Bisetti, and her brother, Mario, Jr.
Survived by her husband of 70 years, Frank J. La Porta, her children, Michael, Ronald (Debora), and Lisa L. Doyle (John), her five grandchildren, Alicia (Corey), Tina (Richard), Erin (TJ), Stephanie (Josiah), and Ronald, Jr. (Colleen), and nine-great-grandchildren, Nora, Emma, Genevieve, Harper, Jack, Tegan, Cavan, Miles, and Hazel.
Relatives & friends are invited to her Viewing Friday, February 27th, 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St. Dorothy Catholic Church, 4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Inurnment Private.
