SEEGULH. David, age 88, on Jan. 5, 2021 of Haverford, PA.David loved to travel and had been to most countries in the world. He knew and appreciated fine wine and food, and always enjoyed sharing a good meal with friends and family. He continually kept our hearts and glasses full! He was willing to take on almost any task and loved to say, “Tell me what you can’t get done and I’ll show you how to get it done”.H. David Seegul was born in South Woodford, Essex, England. He was the only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Seegul. He was educated in England and upon completing his education, served with the Royal Air Force in both Great Britain and Germany.He immigrated to the United States in 1958 and became a US Citizen in 1963 He joined KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and began a very successful career in the travel industry. He went on to become President of a small European company and built it into one of the largest trans-Atlantic tour operators with 10 offices in Europe and 3 in the United States.He was widely acknowledged for his work in promoting a better understanding of the US to Europeans, and for bringing in foreign tourists and events. He was interviewed on the radio and television, quoted in print media including the New York Times and Time Magazine, and was ultimately presented with the Key to the City of New York in recognition of his work.Also during this time, he met and married the love of his life, Barbara (nee Mozino) and had their daughter, Hillary. After retiring from the travel industry, he moved with his family to the Philadelphia area where he and his wife managed and grew the Mozino family’s commercial real estate business.He was a long-time member of the Union League of Philadelphia and The Merion Cricket Club, and was also a member of The Merion Golf Club.He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara, his loving daughter Hillary Seegul Chassin and son-in-law Andrew Chassin, and his adoring grandchildren Avery and Oliver Chassin.Due to covid regulations, a memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lankenau Medical Center Foundation (attention Jen Caviglia) would be most appreciated.
