Aleta Marie Reed passed away peacefully “down the shore” surrounded by her family on Feb. 3, 2025.

Aleta was a skilled customer service professional for many companies including Hygrade, Clover, KOHL’s and was most recently retired from LaFrance Corp after twenty plus years of impeccable loyal service.

Aleta was a child of God and had a long-lasting and deep connection to her Catholic faith.

She treasured time with her family above anything else and lived her life with intentional purpose to spread love by creating wonderful family traditions like PJ Thanksgiving, family pictures with Santa, baking little mom-mom cookies with and for her grandchildren and always looked forward to the annual Provence family week down the shore every August. She was a crazed Philadelphia Sports fan and could be heard cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia EAGLES throughout the years with her husband Joe.

Daughter of Aleta Marie Provence & the late John “Jack” Provence.

Devoted wife of Joe Reed, loving mother of George (Renee) Wychozowycz, Heather (Robert) Newman, Joseph Wychozowycz. “Little Mom-Mom” to her five amazing grandchildren. Sister of Elizabeth “Betsy” (Jim) Mellon, Jack (Stephanie) Provence, Dan (Fran) Provence, Michael (Tina) Provence & the late Anne (Tom) Culp. Devoted parent figure to JB Reed, Aunt, Cousin, Godmother, Neighbor, Co-Worker and special friend to many.

Relatives & Friends are invited to her viewing Friday evening Feb. 7th 6-8pm at the Danjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3255 Concord Rd. Aston.

Her funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Church 3255 Concord Rd. Aston on Sat. 9:45-10:45 am. Funeral mass will be held at 11am. Interment will be private

I worked at La France were I met Alita thru Joe, and became friends we would meet as couples for dinner at time, she was such a gracious lady full of life, I will miss her, I gave my deepest condolences to her loves one

I will never forget our many morning teas. Aleta was a shining, beautiful soul. She would do anything for her family and friends. I was so sorry to hear of her passing. My sincere condolences go out to her loving family!
