My late husband Howard and I were always amazed with Dave’s ability to share stories about anything and sometimes everything in particular about the Civil War. He truly was an Encyclopedia Britannica. We did many Civil War reenactments together and Dave was the truest of Civil War surgeons who amazed our audiences with his authenticity. Dave loved his family and was a very special gentleman who men and women respected. My deepest sympathies to his wife Joanne, his son and two daughters. May you rest in peace Dave.

I will miss my friend David very much, we served together in Vietnam and went on R&R together to Thailand. We have remained in touch all these years, he and Jo Ann came out to Oregon to visit and we went back to see them twice. We called on the phone a lot, his sense of humor kept me sane in Nam. David was always the go to guy if I had a question about military history. He really knew his stuff. I remember him coming to our middle school and impressing the kids with his civil war attire, his explanation of weaponry and his enthusiasm for teaching the kids about the Civil War. David was a great friend and will be missed. Godspeed David and I know you are in a better place.

I am so sorry for the loss of my friend Dave. Dave and I were hired on the same day in 1965 at Trans World Airlines. Dave was one of the good guys that I ever worked with.
