Dear Rose: I am so sorry about the passing of your husband Al. What a nice life you and he had together after seeing that enjoyable video of his life. May all those nice memories help see you through this difficult time. Perhaps you are wondering who I am? Our paths crossed years ago with the Sergio Franchi Fan Club and most recently at the Bella Hair Salon. We had a nice chat. I met your husband a long time ago when we asked him to help judge an Italian Student for a scholarship from the Italian Americans of Delaware County for which I was chairperson. He was so gracious to do this for us. What a nice guy he was as anyone could see from that great video I watched. Again, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Lucille Amicone, Springfield Pa.
Stephen and Teresa DiPietro left a message on December 7, 2022:
Teresa and I were so saddened to learn of the passing of Al. To Rose, Mark and the entire DiGiovanni Family please accept our profound and deep sympathies on your loss. Al was an exceptional individual both personally and professionally. It is difficult to understand when people pass before any of us are ready to say good-bye, but little by little through the comfort of family, friends and time we will begin to remember not just that Al died, but that he lived for many extraordinary years, touching others through his kindness, his medical skills, his compassion for others, his generosity and his self-sacrifice. Both time and life keep a dear school indeed, and once again they have shown us that life is both fragile and fleeting, full of joy and dampened by sorrow, temporary yet eternal. The comfort we share is in knowing that we are never alone - not when the night is darkest, the wind the coldest, nor the world seemingly most indifferent. Take comfort in knowing that someone so special as Al will never be forgotten. We shall treasure the time that we knew Al, clothed in the gratitude of knowing that his was a life well lived in the service of others. Steve and Teresa DiPietro
