Rest in God’s perfect peace, Nana. The light of Christ that shone so brightly through you will never fade.
Dean left a message on March 6, 2026:
I have many beautiful memories with nana, but one in particular comes to mind. I once went over to her house to power wash her siding for her. She said, “hey if you gonna come I gonna make you dinner, ok?.” I said “ok nana you don’t have to do that, but sure. I’ll stay for dinner.” As i was power washing the house, I could already smell whatever delicious concoction she was making as I finished up. When i went in, to my surprise, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary that she was making. From what i could see she had made some pork chops in a pan, a nice looking salad and some sauteed vegetables. I sat down at the table and took the first bite and boy was I wrong in thinking those pork chops were ordinary. And the sauteed vegetables she made tasted amazing as well. I asked her, “nana, what did you do to these pork chops, they’re unbelievable.” She said, “I put a little bit of wine. It’s from Italy. I had this bottle so many years, but i used it to make it special for you.” Anyone else, who just doesn’t know, wouldn’t think much of that story, but it meant something to me. Here was this bottle of wine that she had that clearly had a sentimental meaning to her and she had been saving it all those years, but she decided that because I helped her she was gonna break out that special wine to add a special flavor to what she was preparing to make the meal special for me. That was her way. She made everyone she graced with her presence feel special in her own way. She was a wonderful person who I will dearly miss. Someone I never minded helping, someone who holds a place in my heart and someone who I was honored to know and love. She might not have been “MY”grandmother, but for the passed 14 years, it sure felt like she was. I love you nana. Your memory will live on in the hearts of your family forever.
