Anna M. Piecara

Anna M. "Ann" Piecara, 70, of Aston, PA, died on January 16, 2006, at Riddle Memorial Hospital.<br><br>She was a longtime CYS Foster Parent and Pantry Pride clerk. She was born, Anna Mae Smith, in Carlisle, PA and has lived in Delaware County for the past 52 years.<br><br>She was a foster parent for Children and Youth Services of Delaware County for more than 17 years. During that time, she touched more than 70 children’s lives and welcomed them into her home and heart. She also worked for approximately 8 years at Pantry Pride in Upland as a cashier. She was successful at both these jobs because "she never met a stranger and everyone<br>became her immediate friend" and family.<br><br>Mrs. Piecara had a special place in her heart and home for animals that needed a home. She always had a stray that she acquired because she couldn’t see it taken to the "pound". Her garden was also something that she loved.<br>She and her children and friends would sit in the yard during the seasons and enjoy the wonderful colors of the flowers that she had planted.<br><br>She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Piecara of Aston; daughters, Mary Anne Nealson of Falls Church, VA, Fredel Graybeal of Aston, PA, Susan Houska of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Anette Henry of Glen Mills, PA; son, Mark Piecara of Brookhaven, PA; adopted sons, John Piecara, Robert Piecara; sisters, Ruth Johnson of Rufus, OR, Laura Riley of Portland, OR; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and dearest friend, Mary Baxter and also Sheldon Weiner.
