Bernadette Rita Gregull Evans of Media, formerly of Aston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on June 10, 2025.
Bernadette was very active in St. Joseph Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Guild and a member of the choir, and Aston Senior Citizens.
Bernadette was the daughter of the late William & Barbara Colella, and sister of the late Emily Rossillo and Abraham Colella.
Survivors: Devoted wife of Paul Evans. Bernadette was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Albert Gregull. Loving mother of Janice Masciarelli, William (Nancy) Gregull. Step mother of August Franceshi, Bettyann Castelli, Susan Joyce, Paul Brian Evans, Michael Evans.
Cherished grandmother of Eric Masciarelli, Natalie Pawlus, and Jonathon (Jane) Gregull.
Bernadette is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly.
A graduate of Upper Darby High School, Bernadette later moved to Aston where she lived for many years. While living in Aston, she was a member of the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary as well as St. Joseph Church and active in many church organizations, such as the Ladies Guild and choir. Bernadette stayed very busy with her involvement in the Aston Township Senior Citizen Association. Among her many accomplishments at the center was producing the monthly newsletter for many years.
Bernadette loved flower arranging and gardening. Her gardens were always abundant and maintained with care. Cooking and baking were a favorite pastime, especially her Italian specialties, and everyone always looked forward to holidays at her house, which were always warm and welcoming.
The beach was a favorite destination, especially with her family. Local in the summer and more exotic locations to escape the colder weather. Most summers she could be found under a beach umbrella on the hot sand. She also loved to travel to any location just to go sightseeing, meet the locals, and go shopping.
Nothing brought Bernadette more joy than driving her polished and pristine Cadillacs to Boscovs.
Known as HoneyB to her loving husband Paul, their introduction was a classic love story upon meeting later in life at Aston Senior Citizens. It was love at first sight and Paul feels she was the love of his life and made him feel very special. They had a lot of laughs and great moments over the twelve years they had been together.
Known as Mom to her children, Mom Mom to her grandchildren, who meant everything to her, Bernadette was loved by everyone. Though she may no longer be with us on this earthly plane, she lives on in our hearts and in every life she touched with her grace. If you dust off your dictionary and look up “grandmother”, there will be a full image spread of Mom Mom smiling back at you.
