Born on November 20, 1941, in Southwest Philadelphia, PA, Butch was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Philadelphian.

He is also survived by his stepchildren, James Corso (Jenine) and Wendy Vaughn (née Corso); his sister, Florence “Flo” Major (née Smalley, John); and his many nieces and nephews.

Affectionately known as “Butch,” he was a quiet but steady presence, someone whose strength, kindness, and unwavering love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963.
Butch spent much of his career as a Production and Detail Planner at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and later at Kvaerner Naval Shipyard. In retirement, he continued to stay active, working at OVC and later as a security guard at Lima Estates. He found great joy in working with his hands, especially woodworking in his garage, where he could often be found happily covered in sawdust, creating and fixing things.
A lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies, Butch rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams. Above all, he was immensely proud of his family and of his personal journey, including maintaining over 50 years of sobriety, a testament to his strength, resilience, and character.
