Watch Video TributeObituary of Charles Hefner Houck, JrCharles Hefner Houck Jr, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of 108 Brent Drive, Wallingford PA, passed on December 4th, 2021.Charlie was a graduate of Vineland High School and Pennsylvania Military College. He graduated as a First Lieutenant in the US Army reserves and served in an armored division at Fort Knox Ky. He spent 32 years as an engineer working in Naval Aviation, first at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and then at the Trenton Naval Air Development Center in Trenton. Following his retirement with the Navy, Charlie then worked with Parker Irvine for 10 years. Charlie loved to spend time on his boat and enjoyed many summer months in his cabin cruiser exploring the Chesapeake Bay. His grandchildren loved to visit him on Kent Island MD where they were always guaranteed a fun boat ride. He had a passion for antique furniture and car restoration, especially British sports cars. He was a skilled mechanic and could solve just about any problem related to cars.Charlie was a longtime member of St. John Chrysostom church in Wallingford, PA and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus with the De La Salle council in Springfield, PA.Charlie was the son of Laura E. Houck (nee Harris) and Charles H. Houck Sr., of Vineland, NJ.Charlie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara A. Houck (nee Comisiak), his sons Charles H. Houck III (Karen), and Michael L. Houck (Trish), and grandchildren Alexander C. Houck, Melissa Przemieniecki (Matthew), Nicole M. Houck-Venable (Sean), Michael L. Houck Jr, Lara M. Houck, and Katharine A. Houck.Relatives and Friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, December 14, 12:00 PM, with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm at The D’Anjolell Barone Memorial Home of Wallingford, 908 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford, PA 19086. A live stream of the service will begin promptly at 1:00 PM at https://twitter.com/danjolellbarone?s=09The service will be followed by a private interment with immediate family only.
