Daniel John McEnhill

Daniel J. McEnhill, age 85, from Essington, formerly of Colwyn.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel J. McEnhill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dan left us peacefully at his home in Essington on December 29th, 2023, at the age of 85.

Born in Southwest Philadelphia, Dan was a proud graduate of Bartram High School. He bravely served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, a period of his life that shaped much of his resilient character. Following his military service, Dan embarked on a career with Bell Telephone and later served as the Borough Manager of Colwyn, a role he fulfilled with dedication and excellence.

Dan’s commitment to his community was evident through his involvement with several local organizations. He was the past President of the Colwyn Comets and actively involved with the Colwyn Firehouse and West End Boat Club. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed the greens and fairways, embracing his love for golf.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jennielee, his parents, Joseph and Catherine, and his siblings, Margaret, and Joseph. Dan leaves behind his beloved wife, Helene, with whom he shared numerous cherished moments. His legacy continues through his children, Daniel (Jen), James (Joann), and Tracie, his grandchildren Danny, Jenna, Jordan, Joseph, and James, and his five great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored immensely.

Dan’s life was a testament to hard work, integrity, and the enduring power of family bonds. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a man of reliability, honesty, and loyalty. His joy for life was infectious, whether vacationing with Helene, spending time at the Boat Club, or enjoying the simple pleasures of Wildwood.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Dan’s spirit lives on in the memories we shared and the love he spread. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a pillar of strength in our family and community.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Visitation Saturday, January 6^th 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM followed by his Funeral Service 12 NOON at the D’Anjolell-Barone Memoria Home 908 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086. Inurnment Private.
