David Cunningham, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 4, 2026, of Aston.
David was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, Class of 1972. He went on to build a long career with DuPont at the Experimental Station, where he worked for 43 years before retiring in 2018.
David is survived by his loving wife, Patty (nee Weselyk) Cunningham, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage; his daughter, Krystle (Matt); his son, Dave; and his grandson, Josh, who was undeniably his true favorite and shared an especially close bond with his grandfather.
He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Eileen), John (Cindy), Linda (Bill), and Kathy, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Trudy Cunningham.
David will be remembered for the life he built with his family, his years of hard work, and the love he gave to those closest to him. His family meant everything to him, and the relationships he shared with them were at the center of his life.
His absence will be deeply felt, but the love, memories, and countless moments shared with him will remain with his family forever.
Relatives & Friends are invited to his funeral Sat. Oct 24 10-11:15am at the Danjolell-Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd. Aston. Funeral service for David will be at 11:30am in our main chapel. Interment will be private.
