Dennis C. Buchanan, Jr. “Denny”, of Southwest Philadelphia suddenly passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at age 43 years.

Denny was born on April 5, 1982, to Dennis C. Buchanan, Sr. and Colleen (nee McBride), at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, Pennsylvania.

Denny took pride in being the best Dad he could be. He loved spending time with his son Dennis and going fishing.

Denny was our favorite tour guide on our family trips to Wildwood he always made it such special experience for the kids. He was everyone’s favorite dancing partner and was always the life of the party.

Denny had a love of drawing, cutting hair and gardening, he took pride in any work he completed. He excelled in many trades such as painting, roofing, landscaping, and remodeling homes. He truly was a jack of many trades.

Denny loved spending time with family, especially his son Dennis. He has always been known as a “good guy” who would do anything for anyone if he could. He will be greatly missed.

Denny was predeceased by his mother Colleen; and he is survived by his life partner Lisa Sullivan his son Dennis C. Buchanan III, stepchildren Shannon Ruthledge, Daniel Lear, his father Dennis C. Buchanan, Sr., sisters Kelly Buchanan, Nicole Peca and Theresa Buchanan, as well as his brothers Shawn Buchanan and Christian Buchanan, his nephews, Jayden, Moise, Colin, and Dion, his nieces, Audrina, MacKenzie, and Mori, and his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 9:30 am. to 10:30 am., at Saint Barnabas Church, 6300 Buist Avenue – Philadelphia, PA 19142. A Memorial Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be held privately

I knew Denny since we were kids, our parents all grew up together and the apple was passed down from parents to children. He was my favorite person to do anything with and there will never be another person like him or can replace him. He wasn't my friend, he was my brother he was not just my best friend he was the best person I ever knew and sadly he was taken to soon.
