Delroy M. Confer, age 90, of Malvern, Pa., died on Sat., September 24, 2005 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Paoli, PA.
He was the husband of Florence Gonter Confer and was born in Port Matilda, PA, the son of Alfred M. and Iva Woodring Confer. He was a 1937 Electrical Engineering graduate of Penn State University. He worked for 39 years for the Pennsylvania and Penn Central Railroads, holding systems general office positions of Assistant to Comptroller and Manager Computer Systems. He was a veteran of WWII, discharged as a Captain in the American Army. He served with the British Royal Air Force in the development of the radar systems, working in England, then in the Phillippines and Japan. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5203, Paoli, PA; the Paoli Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge F. and A. M., 574 Coalport, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert M. Confer and daughter-in-law, Janet of Southhampton, NJ, and a daughter, Carol L. Poli, son-in-law, Robert and his grandsons, Timothy and Gregory of Exton, PA.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and followed Penn State Football. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral and Interment are Private.
