“The greatest man we ever knew; the first man we ever loved”.
Domenic, age 89, of Glenolden, PA., passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2025.
During his formative years, Domenic found joy in playing the saxophone as part of the Moonlight Serenaders, where he performed under the stage name Marty Bevo. His passion for music not only provided him with a creative outlet but also led him to a significant moment in his life—a dance where he met the love of his life. This serendipitous encounter blossomed into a lifelong partnership, culminating in their marriage on April 12, 1958, to Jan Rossino. Together, they embarked on the journey of family life, raising their children in the close-knit community of Glenolden, Pennsylvania.
As a devoted husband and father, Domenic embraced the challenges of providing for his growing family, often juggling multiple jobs in the printing industry. His work ethic was remarkable; he frequently put in 15-hour days, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to ensuring his family’s well-being. Despite the demands of his profession, he never wavered in his dedication, making significant sacrifices to create a stable and nurturing environment for his loved ones. Family vacations at the Jersey Shore became cherished traditions, where Domenic reveled in the sun, sand, and surf. He delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from biking along the boardwalk to enjoying the thrill of the casinos, and he took immense joy in watching his grandchildren experience the excitement of amusement rides as they grew.
Known for his cheerful disposition, Domenic had a unique way of responding to inquiries, always proclaiming that he was “Excellent.” This simple yet profound affirmation became a hallmark of his personality, reflecting his optimistic outlook on life. His interactions with his grandchildren were particularly memorable; he had a knack for entertaining them with spontaneous songs, dances, and playful rhymes that captivated their attention and brought smiles to their faces. Additionally, Domenic was an active member of both the Overbrook and Columbus Clubs, where he fostered friendships and engaged with his community, further enriching his life and the lives of those around him.
Predeceased by his daughter, Donna Caporaletti, his parents, Mary (nee Mira) and Joseph Vitale, his sister, Lucy Porecca and his brother Jack Vitale.
