DAVIS
Edwina May Davis (nee Halpin) of Chester Springs, formerly of the North Shore of Long Island, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 7, 2022.
Survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert D. Davis, “Bob”, her children Theresa (Herb) Moffitt, Susan Davis, Mary (Barry) Austin, Rebecca (Brett) Bogle, Elizabeth (Nick) Barron and Patricia (Steve) Flannery, her 15 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren. Also, her siblings Edwin Halpin, E. Carol McGurl and Elaine Nivens.
Edwina unselfishly dedicated her life to her family, friends, community and church. Her six daughters have achieved professional success in health care, education and marketing. She was always the first to help a family member or friend during times of emotional or spiritual need. Active in the community, she co-chaired the 2013 Berks County United Way Campaign which achieved a record in contribution at that time.
Edwina loved to play tennis and golf with her husband, children and friends at Chester Valley Golf Club. She served the Club for over 25 years in a number of positions including the Women’s Board of Directors. She took special pride in scoring a Hole-in-One on the 15th Hole at Chester Valley in 2009.
Edwina’s faith in the Catholic Church was the compass which guided her life. She was recognized by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for her service as a religious education instructor for over 30 years. Additionally, she served several parishes as the Director of the Childrens’ Choir and the cantor of many Sunday masses.
Relatives, Friends and Members of Chester Valley G.C. are invited to join us Thursday Dec. 15th for Visitation from 4-6 PM, followed by Memorial Service 6-7 PM, at the D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Malvern-Frazer 392 Lancaster Pike (Rte. 30). The interment of ashes will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
