DiPietro was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 30, 1922 and went home to rest in God’s peace on February 17, 2017.She was married for 55 years to her beloved husband, Carmen, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2003. Emilia died peacefully at her son Stephen’s home surrounded by her entire family whom she cherished: her daughter-in-law, Teresa, for whom she had the greatest love and affection, and her grandchildren, Ann Marie and Stephen, whom she simply adored.A longtime resident of Springfield, PA, Emilia was a consummate mother and grandmother, who loved to cook and who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends over the years. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, bowling and Phillies baseball. Emilia had an unwavering faith in God, and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for over 43 years.Emilia was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Carmen. She was also predeceased by her sister Mary and her three brothers, Peter, Sal and Nicholas. Emilia is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife Teresa, grandchildren, Ann Marie and Stephen Vincent, along with sisters, Connie Graham and Rita Antonucci, and sister-in-law, Theresa Libbi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Wed. 7-9 PM and Thurs. 9:15-10:15 AM at the Danjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, Pa 19008. Funeral Mass 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Media, Pa. Interment Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Melmark, 2600 Wayland Road, Berwyn, PA 19312 would be appreciated.
