Ernest “Ernie” Charles Saputelli, Jr.

Ernest “Ernie” Charles Saputelli, Jr., age 86, passed away on August 26, 2026. He was a dedicated father and grandfather.

Born July 30th, 1940, he was raised in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia, where his youth benefitted from a large community of close friends.

In 1964 he married Brenda Ann Milano, while beginning his career as an auto and truck service and sales industry professional.

Ernie enjoyed holidays and vacations with his family, and kept life-long companions, living in Springfield and Media, PA.

He provided for his home where he and his wife hosted many gatherings, and made a very good Manhattan. He was an Eagles Football, cigar and Sinatra fan, and for a time known to drive a different car nearly every year, customized with extra gadgets. In the early days he took his family out on some road trips in his VW camper van, CB handle, the “High Roller”.

His dealership, Fleet Truck Center, provided many with long term employment and taught people life-long skills, while tales from its active days are forever told.

In mid life he played golf by his beach home in Brigantine, NJ, where decades prior made the Brigantine Times front cover “man overboard, rescued by Coast Guard” having been caught in a storm.

In his later years Ernie involved himself in refurbishing old furniture and antiques, enduring his illnesses. He’ll be remembered and will be missed, but will now Rest in Peace.

He is survived by his wife Brenda and his three children, Rochelle Mary (Jose) Cordeiro, Stephen Ernest, and Dina Mary (Anthony) Cipollone.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Visitation, Monday, August 31^st, 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd, Broomall, PA 19008. Inurnment Private.
