Evan Hughes Talbert, 32, of West Palm Beach, Florida, was tragically and unexpectedly lost on September 6, 2025. His sudden passing has left his family and friends shocked and deeply saddened, reeling from a life taken far too soon. The cause of death was attributed to diabetic complications. Evan had a curious mind, a generous heart, and a soul filled with passion, desire, and humor. May we all find his strength in ourselves when we need it most and choose to live life to the fullest in his honor.

Evan was born on October 24, 1992, the loving son of Eric Talbert and Patti (Bissoli) Talbert. From a young age, he had an infectious energy that drew others to him. He was a man of impeccable order, ensuring that every item had its place and every plan was carefully thought out – from Lego creations to car detailing, travel itineraries, and even his haircuts. That same attention to detail and care for the little things showed up not only in his hobbies, but in the way he treated people.

Evan’s love language was acts of service, which showed in the way he cared for the people he loved most. While attending Penn State University, he began working at the Nittany Lion Inn – and it was there that he met the love of his life, Krista (Smith) Talbert. From their very first conversations, it was clear they had found something rare. They built a deep connection rooted in laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Whether traveling, trying new experiences, or simply enjoying quiet moments together, they approached life as true partners.

They married in November 2023, a day surrounded by family and friends, and Evan became a beloved son to Krista’s parents, Taya and David Smith, and a brother to her sister, Samantha (Smith) Montross, and her husband, Ryan Montross. Together, Evan and Krista made their home in West Palm Beach, filling it with warmth, humor, and the kind of love that inspired those around them.

Evan adored his family, including his sister, Eva, who brought him joy (and occasionally drove him crazy) with her beautifully chaotic way of life, his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, and his cousins. By consistently putting himself out there, showing genuine interest in others, and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment, he collected friends throughout his life and cherished each relationship.

A loyal sports fan, Evan’s heart belonged to the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Phillies. He relished placing friendly wagers on games and took pride in his sports knowledge, often turning game day into a shared experience with those around him, near and far.

Evan’s benevolent nature touched the lives of everyone he met, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at D’Anjolell Memorial Home, 392 E Lancaster Ave, Malvern, PA 19355, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association. May his memory inspire us to live with the same kindness, humor, and wholeheartedness that he brought to the world.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have not seen Evan for many years, but I remember him well. I met Evan in Boy Scout Troop 158. I was an adult leader and my oldest son Dan was a year younger than Evan. My son and I went to Philmont with Evan. Though it is a difficult hike over many days, it seemed that it was not for Evan. He climbed the mountains with ease and led the crew as the navigator, checking the map and knowing which direction to go next. He also made me nervous as he confidently stood and moved around rocks at the edge of the Tooth of Time. I always thought of Philmont as God's country. I pray that Evan is now with God in heaven and I pray for your family as you mourn the loss of Evan from this world.

Evan was one of my fraternity brothers. He came to Penn State only a few months younger than me, yet I appreciated every moment and life lesson he taught me. Evan brought so much energy and joy to life, he lived by a mantra that friends come before self. It was mutual respect of always having each others backs. He was the epitome of what a good friend represents - he was there for me in my darkest hour, no questions asked. Evan never did anything without a smile on his face. I am deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Evan. I have such fond memories of him as a student at Phoenixville and member of our FBLA club. He had such a spark for a personality, was so personable and fun to be around. I ran into him a few years ago at a restaurant in town and it made my day that he remembered me and our class! My heart goes out to the family and I pray that the warm memories of Evan help ease the pain during this difficult time.

When I met Evan I could tell that he was nothing short of a role model. Evan would walk through a room like and greet everyone; he would make small talk seem not so small. Evan - you will be missed my friend.

Our family is so saddened by Evan’s passing. Our deepest condolences. I remember Evan so well from as far back as when having taught him in 4th grade CCD at St. Basil’s. He was our best student ever and always so kind and polite. Hugs to his wife, lovely sister, Eva, his parents, and all his family and friends.

Evan you and I have accomplished a lot through life’s journey. Remember meeting you while attending East Pikeland Elementary School and we immediately connected. You always wore a smile on your face and we always had something to laugh about inside and outside of school. We shared similar interests in sports too cheering on the same teams. Whenever I was having a rough day or needed someone to catch up with you were always around to do that for me and for others. You’re a great man with a huge heart. You will be sorely missed.

May the Talbert family have peace and love during these difficult times. Know your community and family are here for you. May love and light fill your hearts in these times of sorrow.

Though I didn't know Evan, I am a coworker of Taya Smith, and she always spoke highly of him and shared so many moments leading up the wedding and life after the wedding and how proud she was to have Evan as a son in law and for Krista to have found the love of her life. Hearing the news of her son-in-law's passing deeply affected us all. Our store felt the heartbreak for Taya's whole family. Our thoughts are with Krista's family and Evan's family during this incredibly difficult time.

There are no words to say how truly sorry I am and the enormous loss this is for everyone who knew him. He will be very sorely missed and I hope he knew how much he was loved while here with us. In keeping with our shared love of the Eagles, I will simply say to Evan what we always said to each other in football season……. “Go Birds”.
