Filomena “Minnie” Laura Pieatso

Filomena Laura Pieatso (nee Tenaglia), Minnie to family and friends, passed away on July 9, 2026 at the Wallingford Nursing Home at 102. Formerly of Brookhaven, Glenolden and Philadelphia.

She was born and raised in West Philadelphia, one of 10 children-6 boys and 4 girls. When her mother passed away unexpectantly at a young age, Minnie helped to raise her siblings. Daughter of Carmine Tenaglia and Teresina (nee Pompa) Tenaglia. Minnie attended Overbrook High School and grew up on Pearl Street with her 10 best girl friends. They stayed in touch their entire lives. Minnie was the last of the “the girls club”. She met and married George Pieatso (deceased 1980) in 1942. Minnie, a homemaker and George, an electrician, made their home on Spruce Street in Glenolden, Pa. Raised one son Ronnie. Minnie worked at a shoe store in West Philadelphia and a dress shop in Secane.

Minnie is remembered as always speaking her mind, loving to shop and being quite the “fashionista”. She loved to knit and crochet, and always had a puzzle book. She was a devoted Phillies fan.

Minnie will be buried next to her husband at a graveside burial at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Services will be private.
