D’ANGELO
Francine “Fran,” (nee Cibotti) age 93, on April 1, 2026, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Havertown and Philadelphia, PA.
Francine is predeceased by her parents, Charlotte (nee Carunchio) and Rocco “Robert” Cibotti.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 73 years, Ralph N. D’Angelo, daughters, Judith Anderson (Chris) and Adele Masters (Chris), seven adoring grandchildren: Christian (Dominique), Christina (William), Robert (Ashley), Rafael, Marc, Nicholas, John Paul, and her seven great-grandchildren: Christos, Josephine, Reese, Lucia, Zuzu, Robbie, and Cecilia, with her 8th great grandchild, a boy arriving in May.
Francine had a wonderful childhood in west Philadelphia. Although she was an only child, she was surrounded by a huge, very close extended Italian family of aunts, uncles and many cousins. At the age of 10 she made herself the president of the neighborhood Frank Sinatra fan club. She was a graduate of John Bartram High and sang in the glee club. At 15 years old, Francine met her first and only sweetheart, “Bunny”, on Margate beach. After high school she was employed as a legal secretary in center city, and she and Bunny married in June 1954 at Transfiguration of our Lord Church. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to their 2 daughters in Drexel Hill, and later in Havertown. Finally in 1975 after the girls were grown, she went back to work as an Administrative Assistant at Haverford School District.
After retiring, Francine volunteered at Birth Right in West Chester, which was very rewarding to her.
She and her beloved husband were blessed to be annual Snowbirds in Florida, and even more blessed to travel the world. One of the most beautiful events of her life was visiting the birth town “paese” of her parents’ ancestors in Atessa, Italy. There, she made the joyous discovery of finding living cousins with her same maiden name of Cibotti. How emotional it was for her to visit the house where her beloved father was born.
Francine’s family and especially her grandchildren were everything to her! As their Nonna, she showered them with quality time and endless love beyond compare. Every “Vigilia” on Dec.24, she prepared a spectacular 7-fish feast , until she was no longer able. Although she was Frank Sinatra’s #1 fan, her other faves were brightening up any room with her singing and dancing. She loved the Big Band music of her childhood, as well as listening to any Puccini opera, and was a fan of musical theater.
But her greatest love was for God and His Word, always eager to tell us and anyone she would meet about the Lord Jesus .
Family and friends may call on Thursday April 9, from 9:00-10:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth Church, 110 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken.
