Frederick A. Zikowitz

ZikowitzFrederick A. Zikowitz passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Newark, Delaware.Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a graduate of John Bartram High School and started his career in electric power systems at General Electric’s factory at 69th Street and Elmwood Avenue. His love of flying prompted him to serve in the Air National Guard and he was a volunteer fireman for many years first in Folcroft and later in Wallingford, PA. His long career with the Bechtel Corporation and knowledge of industrial electronics enabled him to travel the world, including extended projects in Canada and South Korea. In the US, Fred contributed to projects such as the Metro in Washington, DC, BART in San Francisco and numerous nuclear power plants. He was married for 45 years to the late Margaret (nee Campbell) Zikowitz. They raised three daughters in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. He was a proud and loving Pop Pop to four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was known as “Uncle Fred” to many and will be missed by all.
