SANTELLO
October 30, 1932 – February 5, 2026
George E. Santello, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at his home in Broomall, PA.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania, George lived a long and meaningful life defined by dedication to his family, service to his country, and quiet strength. He proudly served as Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War, an experience that remained an important part of who he was and reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
Following his military service, George remained deeply connected to the veteran community. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 805, marking his 70th year as a Legionnaire, and was an active supporter of both the American Legion and the VFW throughout those decades. George served as a Trustee of the Delco VFW Post 7390 and participated in numerous Funeral Honors services, offering dignity, respect, and comfort to the loved ones of fallen veterans—an honor he took deeply to heart.
In recognition of his lifetime of service and dedication, Post 805 selected George to serve as Grand Marshal of the Marple Memorial Day Parade in 2025, a distinction that reflected the profound respect he earned within the community.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy (née Pasda) Santello, with whom he shared many years of marriage, as well as by his parents, Rose and Samuel Santello.
He is survived by his loving children, Kenneth Santello, George S. Santello, and Kimberly Ann Heisler (Robert), and by his cherished grandchildren, Joanna Santello, Emma Santello, and Robert Heisler, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life.
George is also survived by his siblings, Robert and Anthony Santello, Arlene Logan, Rose Marie Dougherty, Gloria Jean Gagliardi, and Kathleen Gravinese, and was predeceased by his siblings Lorraine Rein, Joseph Santello, and Daniel Santello.
George will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, the values he instilled in those who knew and loved him, and lifelong commitment to honoring those who served alongside him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 10:30 am and Full Military Service at 11:00 am at American Legion Marple Memorial Post 805, 2340 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008-2927
