CALLAGHAN
George S. Callaghan, age 70, of Drexel Hill, PA passed away peacefully in his home on May 24th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
George attended St. Charles Borromeo School for elementary school and went on to attend Monsignor Bonner High School. He then graduated, with honors, from St. Joseph’s University.
George enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and antique cars. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. George also loved vacationing with his family. He greatly enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren at Busch Gardens during vacations in Virginia.
George was a devoted family man who truly cherished being surrounded by those he loved. He found great joy in celebrating holidays and special occasions with family and friends. Some of his most treasured memories were spent by the pool, sharing laughter, love, and unforgettable moments with the people closest to him.
George is preceded in death by his son, Mark Callaghan (the late Mary), his parents, Elaine (nee Murphy) and John Callaghan, and his brothers, John, Chuck, and Richard Callaghan.
Survived by his wife, Joyce (nee Jackson) Callaghan, his children, Michael Callaghan (Danielle) and Ashley Page (Justin), his grandchildren, Gabrielle (Craig), Cameron, Valerie, Logan, and Jaxson, his great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Adelynn, and Celeste, his siblings, Joseph Callaghan (Barbara), Mary Ellen Callaghan, and Dolores Hay (Duane), and his sisters-in-law, Patricia and Anita Callaghan.
George will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends for always finding joy in any situation. His kindness, laughter, and contagious smile will be remembered by all who loved him.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Visitation Friday, May 29th, 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM followed by his Memorial Mass 11:00 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3422 Dennison Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Inurnment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family’s wish is for support to be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation, a cause close to their heart. A tribute page has been created for George to help carry forward the hope and strength that George showed every day.
