Due to weather conditions predicted for Thursday Hugh’s funeral will now be on Friday
Hugh McGlade, 56, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of Havertown, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work.
A devoted husband, amazing father, and a true friend to many, Hugh spent over 30 years as a skilled auto mechanic, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His generosity and kindness were matched only by his quick wit and sense of humor, bringing smiles to everyone he met.
Hugh found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, scratching lottery tickets, watching TV, and most of all, spending time with his beloved family, friends, and his cherished pets. His three dogs and two cats were as much a part of his family as anyone else, and he cared for them deeply.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Daniel McGlade, and is survived by his loving wife, Caroline McGlade (Oliva); his son, Jack McGlade; and his daughter, Anna Pownall. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Michael (Yolanda) Oliva and Ralph (Michele) Oliva, as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Hugh’s hardworking spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his ability to bring laughter to any situation will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
Relatives & Friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Fri. Feb. 20th 9:15-10:45 am at the D’Anjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd. Aston. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM in our main chapel. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery
