Irene Rose Corey

Irene Rose Corey Passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023, age 92, of Sea Isle City, New Jersey and formerly of Wallingford.

Loving mother of Francis Jr. (Peggie), Christopher (Colleen), Stephen (Debbie), Paul (Kate), and Kevin (Tina) Corey and daughter Marianne (A.J.) Muntz, and daughter-in-law Denise Corey. Irene is also survived by her brother David Vaughn, twenty-three loving grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving husband Francis, beloved son William who passed away suddenly in late 2021, and sisters, Vernice, Marie, and brother Don.

She was a homemaker to her large family and had many talents that she willingly shared with anyone to make the world a better place. She was an artist, seamstress, cook and baker. Irene enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband and sisters Vernice and Marie and summers in SIC. She loved the beach and enjoyed time with her grandchildren fishing for flounder, riding boogie boards in the ocean and always had ice cream money! She was very social and had a core group of friends that she would go to mass with daily and play cards weekly. Irene loved to travel and had many amazing trips to Europe, Ireland, Mexico, and Hawaii. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to the Phillies and watching the Sixers.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, July 19th from 9:30-10:45 A.M followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford. Entombment, Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum.
