James Gerard Irvine, age 57, passed away surrounded by his family on March 27th, 2024. He was the son of the late John W. Irvine, Jr. and Patricia Bruder Irvine. Jim grew up in Gladwyne, PA and attended Waldron Academy and St. Joseph’s Prep, graduating in 1985. He then graduated from Villanova University in 1990 and launched a long and successful career in the Investment Banking Business, which began in New York City.

Jim had an amazing zest for life and seemed to always look on the bright side of things. Jim loved to keep his family close and expand his friendships and relationships. Jim supported his Alma Mater’s St. Joe’s and Villanova with great enthusiasm. He was a spirited and talented athlete and devoted fan after graduation. Jimmy enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, Villanova basketball, golfing, boating, and the beach. Jim was incredibly proud of his daughters, their accomplishments, and cherished all the moments they shared together.

The family is saddened by his loss but considers themselves lucky to experience the faith, determination, and love of life Jim portrayed especially during his past few years.

Predeceased by Patricia B. (nee Bruder) and John W. Irvine Jr.

Survived by Michaella Irvine, Cameron Irvine, Tayte Irvine, and Leigh Elliott; his siblings, John W. Irvine III, Trishie Kane (Bill), Michael F. Irvine (Lisa), Maureen D. Adams (Larry), Timothy T. Irvine (Vicki), and Stephanie M. Lyons (Brad), 29 loving nieces and nephews, and 3 grandnieces. He is also survived by many great friends whom were more like brothers to him.

Relatives & friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday, April 4th 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St. Thomas of Villanova on Campus 800 E Lancaster Ave, Villanova, PA 19085. Interment Private, family only.

Sending all my love to my best friend in the world,, Timothy, Johnny, Trishie ,Michael, Maureen and Stephanie on the passing of Jimmy. My heart breaks that I am writing another remembrance of an Irvine. Losing Jay, then Pat and now Jimmy is tough to swallow. Growing up, there were few weekends that I wasn’t hanging out over at the Irvine's. Jimmy was the “steady” QB for all the ‘1 on 1’ football games Timmy and I played against each in the front yard. This was no regular “touch football” contest. This was all out, full tackle with no pads! The winner (mostly Timmy) got some serious bragging rights! Jimmy loved to get our competitive spirits going, which served us both well throughout grade school and high school athletics, and for Timmy, Div. 1AA football at the University of Delaware. Jimmy was the next older brother that taught Timmy and I a ton about life experiences. Jimmy was cool, good looking and let us hang out when his buddies came over. Like all the Irvine’s, Jimmy had a great sense of humor which made being around him so much fun. Always smiling, ready to give you hug is how I will remember him. Taking solace that he has been reunited with his Mom and Dad. Willie
