James Gerard Irvine, age 57, passed away surrounded by his family on March 27th, 2024. He was the son of the late John W. Irvine, Jr. and Patricia Bruder Irvine. Jim grew up in Gladwyne, PA and attended Waldron Academy and St. Joseph’s Prep, graduating in 1985. He then graduated from Villanova University in 1990 and launched a long and successful career in the Investment Banking Business, which began in New York City.
Jim had an amazing zest for life and seemed to always look on the bright side of things. Jim loved to keep his family close and expand his friendships and relationships. Jim supported his Alma Mater’s St. Joe’s and Villanova with great enthusiasm. He was a spirited and talented athlete and devoted fan after graduation. Jimmy enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, Villanova basketball, golfing, boating, and the beach. Jim was incredibly proud of his daughters, their accomplishments, and cherished all the moments they shared together.
The family is saddened by his loss but considers themselves lucky to experience the faith, determination, and love of life Jim portrayed especially during his past few years.
Predeceased by Patricia B. (nee Bruder) and John W. Irvine Jr.
Survived by Michaella Irvine, Cameron Irvine, Tayte Irvine, and Leigh Elliott; his siblings, John W. Irvine III, Trishie Kane (Bill), Michael F. Irvine (Lisa), Maureen D. Adams (Larry), Timothy T. Irvine (Vicki), and Stephanie M. Lyons (Brad), 29 loving nieces and nephews, and 3 grandnieces. He is also survived by many great friends whom were more like brothers to him.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday, April 4th 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM ALL IN CHURCH at St. Thomas of Villanova on Campus 800 E Lancaster Ave, Villanova, PA 19085. Interment Private, family only.
