Jean T. Evans, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022. Formerly of Aston, PA (58 years) and Wilmington, DE, (4 years lovingly at Harbor Chase), she died surrounded by family at Kendal at Longwood.
She was the daughter of the late Lena Cantalamessa, and Joseph Tiburzi.
Jean was voted “Most Dependable” of her graduating class at Chester High School. While a student, she worked at her parents’ business, Joe’s Tire Shop in Chester; then Fidelity Bank, where she met her husband, Bob.
Throughout her career, you would see her smiling face serving customers in both SaVen Variety and the Aston Shop N Bag.
Jean was proud of her children and their many accomplishments, supporting them in all their endeavors. She enjoyed attending many of her grandchildren’s activities, always arriving early to get prime seating. A sport’s enthusiast, she especially enjoyed following the Phillies, Eagles, and Philadelphia Union. Jean was a daily communicant at St. Joseph’s Church, where she volunteered in activities such as Project Hope, counting Sunday collections and so much more.
Loving wife of the late Robert Richard Evans, they celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Loving mother of Lisa (Manuel) Pinto, Donna (George) Covell, Barbara (Erik) Long, Maria (Bill) Schatzman, Andrea (Andy Ralston) Evans, Robert (Walter Hagar) Evans.
Also survived by her cherished grandchildren Andrew, Morgan (Matt), Austin (Elizabeth), Joselin “JoJo”, Tyler, Will, Connor, and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by brothers: Angelo Tiburzi, and Joseph Tiburzi, Jr. She was devoted to a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives & Friends are invited to her Viewing & Funeral Mon. Aug. 1st 8:30- 9:45am at St. Joseph Church 3255 Concord Rd. in Aston. Funeral mass at 10 am. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jean’s name can be made to St. Joseph Church, Aston.

Memories of the Donaghys traveling from Youngstown to the Philly area and dividing up 7 ways to stay with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, I was the lucky one who got to stay with you, Uncle Bob, Lisa, Donna, Maria, Andrea, and Robbie. Bed jumping, pool activities, popcorn and games, and always, always a feeling of being not only welcomed, but celebrated.
