Joseph Anthony Bevilacqua
of Southwest Philadelphia passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025
Joseph proudly served his country from 1964-1970 in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a successful career as a pharmaceutical salesman. Devoting a majority of his life to a few different companies, Joseph was one of kind at what he did. He formed personal connections with everyone he came in contact with. Everyone knew who “Joe Bev” was as he greeted them with the fact that he was always “way above average.” He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at his place in Maryland, attending Sunday dinners, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, rooting for all Philadelphia sports teams, and being the life of every party. With his friends he enjoyed playing in Starfires, his beloved band, sharing stories, playing cornhole, and all of his years spent at the bowling alleys. Joseph was also an active member of his Church devoting many years of playing guitar and singing Sunday masses.
Beloved husband of the late Maureen (nee Sullivan) Bevilacqua. Son of the late Dante & Anna Bevilacqua, and brother of the late Dante Bevilacqua, Jr.
Survivors include his loving children Michele (Orazio) Musumeci, Laura (Greg) Terinoni, and Christine (Gerald) DiStefano. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Alexa (Thomas) Boyle, Nicholas, Gregory (Jessica) Terinoni, Domenica, Felicia, Mia, Gerald “Jerry” III, and Justin. He found happiness in the laughter of his great-grandchildren Julia, Daniel, and Roman, and in the companionship of his significant other Maria Lucianetti.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, October 30th, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish (formerly St. Irenaeus Church), 7200 Grovers Ave Philadelphia PA, 19153. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Malvern Retreat House, 315 S. Warren Ave Malvern, PA 19355 or The American Legion.
