CADY
Joseph B. Jr., age 77, on March 18, 2024, of Malvern, PA.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy W. (nee White), his sons, Joseph B. III (Christine), and Josh N. (Julie), his grandchildren, Olivia, Deacon, Joseph IV, Graham, Lyle, and Taylor, and his siblings, Charles “Nick” (Lynn), Catharine Burke (the late David), and Nancy B. Johnson (Tim).
Joe was born in Sayre, PA to parents Attarah (nee Blackwood), and Joseph B. Cady, Sr. He graduated from Athens High School in 1964. Joe then attended Lafayette College, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1968.
Upon graduation, Joe was drafted by the United States Army, where he served proudly in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. While enlisted, he served as Executive Officer 2nd command of 525 Military Intelligence Group.
After marrying his wife Judy in 1973, Joe began a successful career in the insurance industry. They made several stops before landing in Malvern, Pennsylvania where Joe spent the majority of his professional career as the Regional Sales Manager for the Philadelphia office of Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co .
In his free time, Joe enjoyed several hobbies. He was a familiar face at Stonewall Golf Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds of golf. At home, his basement workshop was his haven; he loved to putz around working on various projects. Cooking was another passion; he loved to cook for large gatherings of friends or family, as well as for Boy Scout Troop 78 events. Additionally, Joe enjoyed annual fishing adventures with his hometown friends.
Throughout his life, travel was a consistent theme, whether it was for work, golf, fishing, or more recently in retirement, European vacations with Judy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 7, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Loch Aerie Mansion 700 Lancaster Ave, Malvern, PA 19355. The family will have a receiving line from 2:00-3:00. We invite everyone to stay afterwards for food and drinks to celebrate Joe’s incredible life.
