Joseph “Joey” J. Lurwick, Jr.

Joey Lurwick, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 36 on August 23, 2026.

Joey is survived by his beloved daughter, Juliette “Julz” Lurwick. Family was the most important part of his life, he would do anything for the ones he loved. Joey was very proud of where he came from and had a saying, “Delco was not just a place but a lifestyle”.

Joey was a man of many trades and talents. He was a member of the Local 1 Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers. He always put pride and honor into all of his work.

Joey loved many things. He had a love for all genres of music, but metal and rock held a special place in his heart. He was a metal head to the core and enjoyed listening to Ozzy, Metallica, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana.

Joey would light up a room with his contagious sense of humor. He was the life of the party and made you laugh until you cried. Joey was also a big prankster and always planning his next big prank.

Joey was a big Philadelphia sports fan. He loved the Eagles and always referred to himself as “Nick Foles”.

He loved going to Wildwood, New Jersey, Julz referred to it as “Trailer Town”. He also loved getting tattoos, especially on Friday the 13th. He loved bright colors but neon green was his favorite.

To know him, was to love him. Even with the confirmation name, Wolfgang. Only Joey would choose such a different Saint’s name. That’s what made him stand out from the rest!

Joey is survived by his cherished daughter, Juliette Lurwick. Parents, Joseph (Rose) Lurwick, Mary (Todd Houck) Lurwick. Beloved brother to Kevin (Helen Matusik) Lurwick, Chelsea (Anthony Ottmar) Lurwick, Nicholas Lurwick, and David Lurwick. Beloved Uncle to Anthony, Aaron and Aurora Ottmar, and Theodore Lurwick. Grandson to the late Jane and Ronald Lurwick, Mary Hudicek and the late John Hudicek.
