Joseph “Joe” P. Proko

Joseph Peter Proko, 88, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on November 12, 2025 at Paoli Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia in 1937 to Leon and Genevieve (Jaski) Proko, Mr. Proko was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and from LaSalle College. He served in the United States Marine Corps before enjoying a sterling career as an insurance executive with INA, CIGNA, and others. He was a devoted husband of 64 years to Joanne (Krochmal), an endearing father to Jeanne (William Kennedy), a supportive grandfather to Christian Porter, and a wonderful brother-in-law to Rita Krochmal, who are among the many who deeply miss him. He is also survived by his brother Jon Leon Proko of Placer County, CA, and his nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, and by the many four-legged pets whom he and Joanne have dearly loved. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, love, and timeless support for the Phillies and Eagles. The family will memorialize Joe privately. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals in Radnor, PA, an organization whom Joe supported.
