Joseph W. Broome III died on Feb. 2, 2005 at home. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Alta and Joseph Broome Jr., Mr. Broome was a longtime resident of Drexel Hill. After attending Girard College, Mr. Broome served in the Army with the 69th Infantry Division where he earned a Bronze Star. He is also a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Broome was the owner of MACO Box Co. in Yeadon for 37 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Alice M. nee Schattlack, his devoted children; William J. of Sewell, NJ, Jo Ann David Speyer of San Bernardino, CA and Mary Jane Craig D’Anjolell of Morton, and his adoring grandchildren; Peter Shannon, Craig Karen, Lisa and Christopher.
