MOFFA Kathleen Ann (nee Smith), Age 84, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on September 28th, 2024. The beloved wife of 58 years to the late Anthony L. Moffa (1934-2021), she is survived by her loving children Anthony P. (Karyn), Michael (Claudia), Robert (Caryn), Susan Opielski (Michael) and Steven (Lynne); her 12 cherished (all “favorite”) grandchildren Katherine, Steven, Sophia, Aidan, Ryan, Nick (Brandi), Gianna, Luke, Sarah, Vincent, Joseph and Alex; her dear brother Gerard Smith (Fran); her two sisters-in-law Elaine and Kathy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Beloved daughter of the late Catherine (nee Johnson) and Spencer Smith, and sister of the late Robert Smith (Charlene), James Smith and Joseph Smith, and aunt to James Smith Jr. Born March 10th, 1940 in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, she graduated from St. Matthews grade school and St. Huberts high school.
In addition to raising their five children, she was active outside her family with a number of paid and volunteer jobs throughout her lifetime. She was an operator at Bell Telephone, a Legal Secretary for several attorneys and worked in the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. In addition, she was an admiring fan of her grandchildren’s artistic, musical, sporting and theatrical activities. Throughout her lifetime Kathy was a devout Catholic, an active member of her church and regularly volunteered in a local food pantry. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and loving (sometimes spoiling) her grandchildren in addition to her grand-doggies and kitties!
She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was “tea with the girls”, drinks out on the back deck, a Sunday family dinner, a cookout, holiday get-togethers, attending a school show, concert, or athletic competition. While she was petite in stature, her personality was larger than life; Kathy was always moving, continuously involved in the rich world she had built around herself.
Most will tell you Kathy was one of the kindest, sweetest people you will ever meet. She had a genuine and never-ending love for her family and friends. She was beautiful both inside and out and will be Forever missed!
