Kristine “Krissy ” I. Barlam

Kristine Barlam (Kestner) of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 9, 2026, at the young age of 51, after a graceful and brave yearlong battle with cancer.

Krissy was the adored wife of Mark Barlam; proud mom of Abigail, Emily, and Chloe; predeceased by her father, David Kestner; precious daughter to Theodora “Teddy” Kestner (nee Closkey); beloved daughter-in-law to Rosemary (nee Dangelantonio) and Robert Barlam; dear sister of Ari (Denise) Kestner and Justin (Valarie) Kestner and sister-in-law to Joseph Barlam; cherished aunt to Caitlin, Rachal, and Sarah; and treasured friend to many.

Born in Encino, CA, Krissy had her one big break starring as an infant in the movie The Godchild with Jack Palance, before the family moved to Springfield when she was one year old. As the youngest sibling with two older brothers, and the daughter of a strong mom, Krissy learned early how to be tough and could hold her own in any situation. She attended St. Francis of Assisi School in Springfield, where she made many lifelong friends.

Krissy graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1992, where she met the love of her life, Mark. At just 16 years old, she had found her perfect match—the man with whom she would build a beautiful life, raise three amazing children, and share a love that never faded. Mark was the one who always gave her butterflies. He stood by her side, fiercely loving, protecting, and caring for her until the very end.

After graduating from Crozer Radiology School as Salutatorian, Krissy began a successful and fulfilling 30-year career at Crozer Hospital as an MRI Technologist. She was known not only for her exceptional skills, but also the kindness, compassion, and comfort she brought to every patient she met. Over the years, her co-workers became like family, and she will be remembered by them as a beloved friend.

Krissy’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a mom to her three daughters, Abby, Emily, and Chloe. She filled their childhood with love, laughter, and countless fun and creative adventures, making even the simplest moments feel special. She was their biggest supporter, as she cheered them on through every milestone. Krissy was proudly alongside each of her daughters as they graduated from high school, and she had the joy of seeing Abby earn her college degree. Krissy’s love, spirit, and kindness will continue to live through her daughters.

Krissy was the best and most loyal friend, always had your back no matter what, could take the competition of a game to the next level, imagined and adorned the most beautiful tattoo art, made a mean appetizer for any party, showed kindness to a friend or stranger, and was the loudest and proudest Phillies and Eagles fan.

Relatives & friends are invited to her Visitation Wednesday evening, July 15th, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the DAnjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. On Thursday morning, July 16th, her Visitation 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 136 Saxer Ave, Springfield, PA 19064. Inurnment Private.
