Laurie Vandergrift passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 66.
Caring. Generous. Compassionate. Kind-hearted. Loving. Powerful. Honest. Delightful. These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe Laurie from friends and former colleagues since she passed.
Laurie built a life centered around a deep love for family, friends, and community. Laurie was a selfless soul who was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back. She was always there for those around her, making sure no one suffered if she could help it. She gave more than she ever received. It was a trait that defined her as a person, and she was this way until the day she passed.
Laurie will always be remembered for her genuine smile, hearty laughter, and her kind eyes. She made everyone around her feel like family instantly. She welcomed anyone that crossed her path. To many friends and colleagues, she was simply known as ‘Mom’. Laurie’s compassion and her impact on the community around her will live on.
Laurie is survived by her children, Jonathan and Edward. She is also survived by husband Ed, sisters Beth and Kelly, and all the friends, family, and community she left behind.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at MacQueen Hall in Upland, PA. The address is 224 Castle Ave, Upland, PA 19015. Food and drinks will be served.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that donations be made to Laurie’s final charity causes before she passed. Please send donations in her name to Upland Baptist Church or the Upland Borough Community Affairs (UBCAA).
