Lawrence “Larry” Powers

Lawrence “Larry” Powers, 83, husband of the late Kathleen G. (Walsh) Powers of Exton passed away peacefully on Sunday September 10, 2023 at Sunrise Senior Living Exton.

Born on September 15, 1939 in Southwest Philadelphia. He was the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn Powers.

Attended the Most Blessed Sacrament Grade School and West Catholic Boys’ High School. Studied at Spring Garden Institute of Technology, University of Alabama-Birmingham, and graduated from LaSalle University.

He served in the US Army for 2 years. He was involved in many church activities at Saints Philip and James in Exton. Including being a lector, a eucharistic minister, prayer group charismatic prayer group leader, and small church community group.

He was a fan of the Eagles and Flyers as well as Big 5 basketball.

He is survived by his two children, daughter Lori, wife of Erik Brecht, and son Steve Powers.

Brothers and Sisters: Joan Dugan, Richard Powers, Cathy Powers, Jerry Powers, and Esther Gallo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and his grand dogs.

He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Powers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church 107 N. Ship Rd. Exton, PA on September 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

A visitation will be held in the church on September 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, 1050 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, PA.
