Although we never met face-to-face, Les has been a dear GoodReads friend of mine for several years. If she said she enjoyed a book, you knew it had to be really good. Her negative reviews were well known as more entertaining than the books themselves and always garnered lots of appreciative comments; she was a master at humorous snark. Ever since I've known her, I can't come across an Epilogue without thinking of Les because she disliked them even more than I do. But as much as she identified as herself a tough Philly Girl, those of us who "chatted" with her online could tell she was a softie at heart. I will miss her more than I can express.

She and I have been writing for over a year now. We "met" online through a survey site. She made me laugh and helped me every time she wrote. I will really miss her emails and wit. My sympathies to you Shane. Also, from my husband, daughter and son. They always heard me laughing after one of Les' emails. God bless you all as you go on. Julie Jeske-Oscar in southeastern WI

I'm sad Leslie is gone. She made me laugh out loud, and was a faithful correspondent for the last five years. Shane, I'm praying that you will soon be at peace about her passing. I'm thankful you had reach other. ( I met Leslie via Goodreads also, like several other people who have already.)

I'm heartbroken to hear about Leslie's passing. We were colleagues years ago, but remained in touch despite time and distance. We talked regularly about our lives and families, movies, books and, quite often, the absurdity of life. She was a kind and generous soul. I'm sad that I'll no longer see her name pop up on my phone, knowing I'd be in for a good chat. Rest easy, my friend.

Les was one of my friends on GoodReads -- one of the people I knew even though we had never met, never spoke on the phone, never saw one another. I willl remember her for her sense of humor and her snarky reviews. She will be missed. My sympathy to her family and friends.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Leslie [or Les as we knew her on Goodreads]. We have enjoyed her fellowship so much. We have laughed together over many books we have read and either loved or hated. She had a knack for expressing her thoughts which brought laughter and joy to our reading group. She will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. God bless, J.W. Garrett

I'm truly shocked and saddened to hear about Les passing away. I met her through Goodreads and a mutual love of Jane Austen books. But I was lucky enough to strike up a conversation with her one day that led to a friendship which included neverending email chains and eventually meeting in person. She will be missed, and my thoughts are with her loved ones.

So sorry to learn about this. I am one of her acquaintances on Goodreads where we shared our love of Jane Austen stories and variations. Sheila (I live in Hellertown so am not that far away.)
