Lorraine T. Pilling (nee Schell) lovingly known as “Lori”, of Philadelphia, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on June 21, 2026.

Lori was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph & Helen Schell; devoted wife of Rich Pilling; loving mother of Lorraine Jackson; and adoring Mommom of Noah and Avery.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Joseph Schell, Frederick “Freddy” Schell (Regina), Helen “Lynnie” Dougherty (the late Thomas), and Veronica “Vicky” Schell (the late Philip). Lori was cherished by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Lori found joy in life’s simple pleasures, watching classic television with her beloved husband, sharing laughter with family and friends, and spending time being silly with her grandchildren.

Known as the life of the party, Lori had a gift of bringing laughter and happiness wherever she went. Her kind and generous spirit made everyone feel loved, welcomed and appreciated. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unconditional love that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday June 30^th 6-7:15PM at Danjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd. Aston. Celebration of life will be at 7:30PM in our main chapel.

Interment will be private.

So sorry to hear of Lori's passing. We had homeroom together each year at West Catholic, along with classes. Right after school we were neighbors on Robinson St., I was 2500 Robinson she lived with Tommy and his parents on 2600 Robinson St. Tommy sister, Kathy was my best friend throughout grade school. Her sister, Vicky was my big sister at high school. Plus, we worked together at Braceland Brothers, in SWP. Words can't express how deeply sorry I am of her passing, my heart goes out to her daughter, husband and grandchildren, and siblings. She was a funny and trustworthy person, I will always remember our memories we shared. May she RIP!

After spending time with Lori as a child and an adult, the Shell family were always great times, because of my time with Tommy and Lynn, always at church or breakfast. Also having fun dancing with her at family gatherings or at the Hug-A-Mug. Then had the opportunity and pleasure to coach her daughter in softball at St.Clement’s, was great after knowing her growing up. She was always happy and fun never seen her mad, always smiling. Her beauty will be missed, may God keep her in his arms and she’ll be welcomed into heaven with grace.

Lori was a sweet woman. In the newness of their lives together, her and Tommy and their beloved daughter, Lorraine (Raines) would visit us at our farm in the Poconos. Someone once said that our memory is a more perfect world than the universe: it gives back life to those who no longer exist. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, may perpetual light shine upon her and may her soul and all of the souls of the faithfully departed , through the mercy of Christ, rest in peace. Amen.
