Marcus Walter Haseltine Jr, 82, of Brookhaven, Pa, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He fell in love at first sight and married his wife on June 1, 1963, and they remained faithful and loving to each other for the next 60 years.
After earning his doctorate in chemistry from Kansas State, he worked in a variety of positions such as a research chemist, an inventor, a headmaster and a business owner.
Marc loved the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully served him in several capacities throughout his lifetime. He spent many hours of his life in prayer and in the study of the scriptures. He particularly enjoyed teaching and counseling on marriage and parenting at Faith Community Church where he served as an elder for many years. He faithfully demonstrated servant leadership as he cared for his wife and his two sons’ families. In particular, he found great joy in cheering on his children and grandchildren as they played various sports. His care extended well beyond his immediate family to his church family and friends and was exhibited by opening his home to others in countless ways.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Joan Haseltine, sons Rodman (Lynn) and Todd (Joyce), and grandchildren: Briton, Lindsay, Colton, Jackson, and Micah.
Marc is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dora Mae and Kenneth Foester, and brother and sister-in-law, Daniel Paul and Helen Haseltine.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marcus Walter and Stella (Perozok) Haseltine.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service, date and site are to be determined.
