Margaret (Margie) McGroarty (McKinley) passed away peacefully at 65 years old, on May 5, 2026, after battling Alzheimer’s. She grew up in Darby, PA as one of 8 children. She was rarely seen without one of her brothers or sisters. She had a helpful and caring nature, always watching neighborhood kids, working at the Doctors office and later on taking care of family members of people she knew. Margie was always a good time. In her younger years, her and her husband would be found around town wherever the party was. She loved music, dancing and just having a good time. She loved collecting anything that was frog or toad related. That love carried on until the last minute when she would “come to life” if you would ask her to go get a drink or put on any song. On weekends, she could be found down the campground driving her golf cart around or “feeding her kids” (deer & squirrels). Margie and Pat were married 44 years this past November and they have 2 children Kristy (Brian) and Patrick (Mary) and an inherited granddaughter, Lexus. She loved her dog, AJ and all her grand dogs Darby, Jameson, Sullivan, Jaxon and Teller. She is preceded in death by her father William J Mckinley, her mother Eleanor P Crossley (Leahan), the father who raised her “Big Ted” Crossley and her sister, Catherine Durgun (Mustafa). She is survived by her siblings Patricia Pastore (Joe), William Mckinley (Lisa), Colleen Ryan. Teddy Crossley (Dawn), Thomas Crossley, and Marianne Crossley. Margie is also survived many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A special thank from the McGroarty Family goes to Margies neices and caregivers Colleen and Melissa for taking care of Margie on her final days.
