Maria Carmela Sabatelli

Maria Carmela Sabatelli, (nee Matrone), 97 years old, peacefully passed away at home May 17, 2024. Carmela was born in South Philadelphia and lived most of her life in Clifton Heights and Aston. Carmela was the devoted daughter of the late Jennie Battaglia and the late Philip Matrone. She was predeceased by her dear sisters Josephine Giannascola, Rita Matrone, and Gloria Russo. She was the treasured wife of the late Leon Sabatelli. She is the beloved mother of Barbara Walden, Ronald (Eileen), and Richard. She is the revered grandmother of Michael, Leah (Kyle), and Anthony and the great-grandmother of Madeline. She is survived by her sister Phyllis, her brother Philip, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday 9:30 – 10:30am at the Danjolell – Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd. Aston. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am in our main chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carmela’s name can be made to Crozer Hospice 190 W. Sproul Rd. 3rd Floor Springfield, Pa. 19064.Internment is private.
