"Valymummy" (Big Mother) as her nieces and nephews called her, was the matriarch of the family. Valymummy was part of the pioneering generation of immigrant nurses who settled in the US and served her adopted country with utmost dedication and devotion--a lasting testimony in the history books. Committed to the well-being of the extended family, as her niece and as a recipient of her largesse, I can say, she helped many to reach the shores of the US for better opportunities in life. Valymummy never wavered in her faith nor in sharing her love of God with family, friend, or stranger. Her hand was engaged in the art of healing and giving. May this legacy she left be never forgotten. Your life has taught me that we can make a tangible difference in our life journey without fanfare. May your soul dance in the celestial mansions with the Creator, Valymummy! Peace, peace, peace to the soul, the family, and friends whom you adored... Lovingly, Renu
