Sister Mary Andrea Mitchell, 62, of the Sisters of Mercy, Merion, died on January 16, 2006 of cancer at Bryn Mawr Hospital.<br><br>In addition to her religious family, Sister Mary Andrea is survived by her brother, Joseph of Cherry Hill, NJ and several nieces and nephews.<br><br>In 1964, Sister Mary Andrea professed vows as a Sister of Mercy. She earnied a B.S. in Elementary from Gwynedd-Mercy College, a M.S. in Education-Administration at University of Dayton and a M.A. in Theology at University of Notre Dame.<br><br>Sister Mary Andrea taught elementary school from 1964 to 1965, at St. Helena in Norristown; 1965 to 1972 at Gwynedd-Mercy Academy for Boys; 1972 to 1974 at St. Joseph’s in Gwynedd Valley; 1974 to 1980 at St. Joseph’s in Sea Isle City and from 1980 to 1987 at St. Denis School in Havertown. In 1987 after teaching elementary school for many years, Sister became Director of Liturgy at Our Mother of Good Counsel in Bryn Mawr.<br><br>Vespers is scheduled at the Motherhouse, Thursday, January 19th at 4:15 PM and viewing at 6:15 PM. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:30 PM in the Motherhouse Chapel.
