BISTANY
Mary Joanne Bistany (nee Saunders) age 86 died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sept. 26, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Edmond Bistany with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Grand Junction, Colorado, Mary Jo grew up on a farm and was the oldest of 6 children. She attended University of Colorado in Denver, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy in 1951. Mary Jo met her husband Ed in Denver where they were married in 1956. They lived for some time in Wichita, Kansas before settling in Aston, Pennsylvania where they resided since 1969. Mary Jo was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, cooking, being in the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
Daughter of the late William & Anna Saunders, sister of the late Thomas, Robert Saunders.
Survivors: Her loving husband Edmond N. Bistany. Devoted mother of Christopher ( Patricia) Bistany, Tina ( Fred) Summers. Also survived by her grandchildren Kayla, Jackson, Freddie, Cecelia, Jacob, sister of David Saunders, Aliene Munger, Jacqualin Serve.
Gathering: Fri. 9-9:45 am at St. Joseph Church 3255 Concord Rd. Aston
Services: Funeral mass 10 am
Interment: Private
