Mary “Mimi” M. (nee McMurray), age 55, on April 8, 2025, of Drexel Hill, PA.

Predeceased by her parents, Ann (nee Wood) and Robert A. McMurray.

Survived by her husband of 24 years, Wayne V. Lyon, her three daughters, Abigail F., Margaret A., and Elizabeth M., her brother, Locke R. McMurray, and her in-laws, Loretta Fioretti, Lorraine Rodriguez, Laura Malloy, and Mark V. Lyon, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Mimi grew up in Rhode Island, a location that always held a special place in her heart. She returned often over the years – most memorably for her wedding, but also for vacations with family. Her second home became the Philadelphia suburbs, where she moved to attend Villanova University. It was there that she formed deep, lifelong connections that ultimately drew her back to the area after earning a master’s degree from Boston University in the early 1990s.

Mimi was known for her sharp intellect and sense of humor. If you were lucky enough to be in her orbit and get to see the world through Mimi’s (beautiful blue) eyes, no doubt you learned and laughed a great deal. A dedicated friend, wife, and mother, she was especially devoted to ensuring her girls were supported in their pursuits, juggling it all with unwavering commitment. From dance class and competition hair and makeup, student theater, Girl Scout events, to family parties and science fairs – Mimi made sure it all happened beautifully for her girls. She was also a dedicated community and school volunteer.

Professionally, Mary (as she was known in her career) enjoyed nearly three decades of success at Ceridian/Dayforce. She was a respected leader and trusted advisor, known for her ability to connect with people, her tireless work ethic, and the meaningful partnerships she developed over the years as she traveled the US and beyond for business.

Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Inurnment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mimi’s memory may be made to St. Andrew School, 535 Mason Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.

I had the pleasure of working with Mary for many years at Ceridian/Dayforce. What always shined through was her deep love, pride and commitment to Wayne and the girls. Her love of family, smart wit and pride in her work will always be remembered. She was a special friend to me. I pray for peace for the family.

I just want to share that my heart breaks for Mary's family. I am so honored that I got a chance to get to know Mimi. She was hilarious, witty, and so very caring. I am so saddened by the news of her passing and just want to send love to her family that she loved so very much.

Shocked and saddened to hear this news. Mimi was a trusted lifetime friend of the Stecker family. Always enjoyed her humor and support through our lives. She will be missed, all thoughts to her loving family and friends.

I only met Mary once at the memorial service for my dear friend, Shannon May’s mother Suzanne. I was struck by her kindness, peacefulness and grace. Mary’s very presence seemed to connect with everyone at our table. So sorry for such a great loss for all who were dear to her. My heart goes out to all who knew her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Mimi in church when we were 4 years old. We grew up together with countless sleepovers. We made our confirmation in church together. Mimi stood up for me in my wedding. Last December she took 3 trains to get to my mom’s funeral that was 3 days before Christmas. My heart is completely broken. She was a life long friend. I wish her family and girls peace and love at this time. Mimi was a lady of elegance, grace and knowledge. I will miss her and still can’t believe this news. Mimi will be missed tremendously. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I've worked most of my career at Ceridian/ Dayforce alongside Mary, most recently as a 'phone a friend' for questions as she was trying to figure out needs for her latest deal. We spent a lot of time traveling together for one account for a year and more, and spent lots of time talking about hopes and dreams as Abby and Maggie came into her life. I find it most telling of her focus, that the last fb post i saw was about Lizzie. She was a good friend, a smart coworker, but just shined when talking about her girls and her guy over the years. Praying for strength to help Wayne, Abby, Maggie and Lizzie through this difficult time. And I truly believe Mary will still be around watching over you all. Love doesn't leave if you hold onto it in your heart.

Wayne, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls. Mimi was a beautiful and strong womlen who left her mark on anyone who met her.

I knew Mimi well a long time ago. We were friends when she attended Cobham Hall School in Kent, England. Her classmates from that time in her life are saddened to hear the news of her passing. We all remember her fondly. God bless you as you navigate this terrible loss. Lynn

I just recently met Mimi this past September as I joined the St. Andrew Home and School Association. She gave me such a warm welcome. I could tell she was a force of nature, a driven individual. I loved her wit, humor and sarcasm. I wish to offer my condolences to her beautiful family. She spoke of her girls often with a huge smile on her face. She was definitely a proud Mama. We didn’t know each other very long, but she touched my life, and I’m honored to have known her.

I met Mary just about 10 years ago when we were looking at HR systems and I immediately knew I what a top notch professional she was. She knew her stuff. She knew how to engage with us. And she was friendly! I knew I had met a lifelong friend. We didn’t see each other often and when we did she always took such good care of me (like giving me a T-shirt set aside for David O). She loved her family and she loved her Dayforce family. When I heard the news I was just devastated as I was looking forward to seeing her next month at the annual payroll conference. Mary will always be in my heart! My deepest sympathy to her family who she always spoke! I hope it brings you comfort knowing she will always be remembered.
