Mary Rita DePaul

Mary Rita DePaul, 99, died at her home at Homestead Village, Lancaster PA, on Friday February 24th.She was the daughter of Sperantina and Giovanni Mancini, and the widow of Romeo J DePaul who predeceased her in 2011.Mary lived most of her life in Philadelphia, moving to Lancaster in 2008.In her early years, she was a hair stylist and owned a salon in suburban Philadelphia.She was a tireless advocate and fundraiser for a major organization that supported children with Down Syndrome.A tiny, vivacious woman with a twinkle in her eye, Mary will be remembered for her culinary expertise, her joy of living, and her non-judgmental love for her family.Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas J, husband of Kimberly DePaul of Lancaster, John E, of Philadelphia; three granddaughters, Danielle Stevenson (James) of Boston, Arianne DePaul Maloney of Lancaster, and Kristen DePaul of Washington DC, and two great granddaughters, Skylar Stevenson and Sophia Maloney.A viewing will be held on Thursday March 2 at 11am at D’Anjollell Memorial Homes, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall PAA Memorial Service at the D’Anjolell Memorial Homes will be scheduled by the family at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homestead Village, PO Box 3227, 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster PA 17604 www.homesteadvillage.orgOnline condolences may be posted on our Web site: www.thegroffs.com
